The
Makena North Course is a 6,914-yard, par-72 championship
layout featuring hilly terrain and challenging
holes. Like Makena South, it comes from part of
the original 18-hole golf course Makena constructed
in 1981.
In 1993, it was split in two, with a new nine
added to each original side to create a 36-hole
complex that is among the best in Hawaii. Robert
Trent Jones, Jr. designed them all.
The North Course is designed with an eye on maintaining
the environmental and archaeological elements
of the area. The result is a very challenging
golf course, set amidst an unspoiled Hawaiian
landscape. |
